At 18 I bought this car, and was very impressed, the 1.3L engine packs a massive punch and the handling is top notch. A year on it still makes me smile every day, easily destroying the big exec BMWs on the motorway!
It has since been upgraded and I am aiming for the 220Bhp mark with racing clutch and TRD quick shift. The car ran a 15s 1/4 with alot of wheel spin but was on the tail of an Impreza :) Dyno Stats:- 155 bhp
- 144 torque
Performance
Engine:
- Blitz FM Intercooler
- Blitz BOV
- Apexi stainless induction kit
- Magnicore 8mm ignition leads
- NGK Iridium Spark plugs
- Apexi Turbo Timer
- Legals R straight through stainless de-cat exhaust system
- Exddy Racing clutch
- Blitz Spec R Boost controller
- 550cc injectors
- 255l/h fuel pump
- TRD Quick Shift
- Oil cooler
- Possible up-rated Turbine
Handling
Handling:
- Dunlop Direzza Racing Alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlops
- Lowered unknown amount on unknown coilovers
To Be Ordered:
- Exddy Racing clutch
- TRD Helical LSD
- Tein Coilovers
Style
Car is basically standard in regards to looks, has had the scoop painted black and the Fog lights are JDM Yellow as well as the front bumper being cut out of the way of the FM. Will be looking into Bride buckets, I was looking into Takata Harnesses however for some strange reason they are not FIA approved in the UK but they are in Japan!? So I’ll have to look else where.

Whats the weight of the Starlet? Given the good amount of power and a weight presumably much lower than most other cars, must be a fun little rocket!

roughly 922Kgs standard but 800kgs is possible with all no essentials removed ;-)
id be happy with 850kgs and 220bhp
they are extremely good fun, but very forgiving so if you muck up the car will let you of and when your pushing it, it gives off subtle signs that you need to back off. I've driven a fair few cars including Impreza's and skylines but the Glanza has to be the most fun
