Deren's BNR32

I have been rebuilding my BNR32 ground up over the last 3 years. It was in immaculate condition when it was imported from Japan. With only one owner and very low km's. Of course one day when i was minding my own business not doing anything foolish i had an accident in it and from there i slowly began the entire rebuild. Started out as just a respray in R34 Sparkling silver but then turned into a much bigger job which has seen me remove everything thats possbile to remove and clean/repaint/detail with OCD standards! I wasen't sure which photo to add because the exterior isnt assembled completely yet. I recently refitted the engine and it looks great! A few smaller things remain to be completed but besides re-assembling the gearbox most of the big job are now done in order to at least have it running.

Car is featured in SAU in the General Maintenance section. So far its had 40,000+ views with 500+ replies. Its been quite a hit :)

Performance

I have built the engine to handle anything the Garrett 2860R-5 turbos can throw at it. However support mods aren't done yet so it will be more of a future potential.

Engine work so far are as follows:

Block hot tanked, all plugs replaced and bored to 20thou, fitted suitable oil restrictor, eased oil return through back of block, Earls performance plumbing external oil return to deep end of sump, opened up sump drillings from high to deep ends, modified rocker baffles, entire rotating mass finely balanced to zero grams including clutch etc, linished crank, ACL race series heat treated main & big end bearings, JUN crank collar, Tomei sump baffle, Tomei metal gasket kit including head gasket, ACL forged pistons, SPOOL forged rods, ARP2000 head stud kit, performance valve springs. Full port job done on head (20-25% gain)

Externally there is the Garrett 2860R-5 turbos with .64 rear housings (707160-5005), HKS extension kit (split stainless dump pipes), Nismo engine and transmission mounts, blue  4ply silicone hose/tube replaces all coolant and vacuum supply. Chrome plated mirror finish plenum, twin turbo pipe and rear turbo charge air pipe. Earls performance plumbing has been used to complete an oil filter relocation and Trust oil cooler core.

In the future i'll be looking to add supporting hardware and tune it for approximately 600hp @ the wheels.

More to come soon..

Handling

Currently using Apexi N1 dampers and springs. Polyurethane bushes all round including rear cradle bushes, steering rack mount bushes, etc. JIC magic adjustable castor rods. Cusco front strut tops.

Style

As mentioned its painted in show quality R34 Sparkling silver metallic coarse variant (WV2) inside and out. Fitted with N1 style one piece side skirts and M-spec R32 GTS rear pods to finish it off. Its been throughly detailed in everyway and everyplace possible, whether or not you will ever see it, ive been there and replaced anything thats no able to look like new.

Interior is yet to be refitted but one thing thats sure to remain is my beloved Momo Race steering wheel. I plan to purchase a Cusco shift knob and tastefully add a host of gauges. Besides that the interior will be fitted with immaculate factory trimming.
