My 4x4 Swift Project

It carries all the cons of having a silicon conjunctive clutch, with the extra 120kgr of it. But in general it still has the same fine cornering capabilities of its lighter "brothers" and of course the great outer looks.

I also repositioned the battery from the engine bay to the boot to allow for more space for the things to come. I will upload a picture soon.

The engine bay has been going through some changes after the recent dyno run. I will update the engine bay photo soon.

Performance

The 92 official bhp (dyno-ed at 96 BHP with 12 kgr of torque) just doesn't cut it. But I am looking to change all that.

So far: Custom cold air intake with mushroom-type foam filter, custom lightweight pulleys, short shift, voltage stabilizer,  grounding wires, custom heat-shield, high pressure radiator cap, mid-temp thermostat, reinforced clutch push rod, oil pan baffle plates,  magnetic oil seal cap, lightweight flywheel, sports clutch

Handling

Thumbs up, though it has a hard to control oversteer when this comes. It is to be expected though due to the short overall length of the car. It behaves more like a cart rather than a coupe.

So far: Alloy Wheels 17''x7J, 215/40/17W tires, Swift Sport springs, adjustable shocks, 320mm 4-piston front brakes, front and rear underchassis frame bars, front and rear strut tower bars, adjustable stabilizer bars, camber bolts, steering angle up kit II

Style

Again thumbs up. The designers of Suzuki really outdid themselves both on the outside as in the inside

So far: Custom rear door spoiler, custom paintwork,  removed rear letter markings and emblem, aluminum cooling ventilator grilles, smoked side markers, reinforced exterior and interior led lights, custom third stop-light deco sticker, "swiftclub" and "Sports Mind" deco stickers, aluminum oil filler cap, hyperhorn, custom air vents to front wheels, bonnet dumpeners

Whats the plans on the performance side of things?
Dimitris responded on Thursday, 30th October 2008
For the time being only low budget things concerning the set up (bars, springs, suspension, brakes, flywheel and clutch) and all the mild staff suzuki sport has to offer except for induction. In the future...everything. From compressor to full engine tune-up (valves, valve spring, forged pistons/rods, custom cast intake, fuel line/pump/injectors, etc). This is why I want the above set up. I will update staff as I go through, but it is going to be a slow process.

mate it sounds expensive why dont you just buy something like that instead of waste ur time doing all this im sure theres a car there that will meet what u want or u required s a 4 wheel drive anyway have fun and good luck...

It IS a bit chavy, you know it.

5* though, 'cause I know it's a beast in the making!!!

I hope the recent track day will close a few mouths when the timetable is uploaded :-)

probably you should stop saying thumbs up.....?

hi,
I have an zc31s project, turbo running on 15 psi, toughly about 270 ps....
All is forgerd and car is completely modified.
Thing i wanna know is, are Swift 4x4 regularly sold in Greece?
I need to find complete 4x4 drive and for that, damaged 4x4 would be perfect.
If you have any info just let me know...
Thx

Hi friend. Swift 4x4 is/was (it's the previous model nowadays) regularly sold in Greece, I am not so sure that the conjunctive clutch 4WD of the Suzuki Swift is what you are looking for. You will need to custom cut new reenforced gearbox/gears and full transmission axles. I was/am also looking into supercharging my car so trasmission is one of the things I was searching for. The stock front axles of the ZD11S (1.3lt 4x4) are rather flimsy for your torque and the rear axle at the point just before the junction with the rear differential is also rather slim, The ZD21S (probably is 1.5lt 4x4) never came to Greece, it has thicker front axles (not as thick as those of the 1.6lt) and I don't have a clue as far as the rear axle.
I hope I helped you. Feel free to ask any other questions (dmavrolias@hotmail.com). I was meaning to ask you myself a few things about fuel lines and upgrades myself.
Keep up the great tuning and thumbs up for your ride. Great work.

Yeah mostly part on original zc31s are slims o i will go with front drive shafts from Monster Sport.
But for me is important to get hands on 4x4 drive and later on i will step by step resolve all issues that will come up.
Anyway i have support from Suzuki also i think it will be manageable, it will require lil bit of cutting and welding but it is manageable.

Hi
regarding this aluminium front grille is this custom made or you purchase it somewhere?
Dimitris responded on Wednesday, 10th August 2011
Hi friend. I bought the aluminum mesh pieces myself at around 12euros per sheet and then formed and cut them, and finally installed them with the precision and excellence of tie-wraps :-)
Snjur responded on Thursday, 11th August 2011
I was thinking it was like that looks good!!!
Dimitris responded on Friday, 12th August 2011
Thank you friend...your engine bay looks much better than mine though
